Slow and Steady

I lost a pound this week. This makes for a total of 14.4 pounds. I'm definitely making progress. Slow and steady wins the race, right? I also saw my foot doctor today. Without going into too much detail, suffice it to say I need an MRI to really figure out what is happening. First I have to get insurance pre-authorization for the MRI, then go have it, then wait a couple days for it to be read and reported back to the foot doc. He is a podiatrist, and he said depending on the results he may send me to an orthopedist for a second opinion. I'm hoping I can at least get the MRI done by the end of this week or early next week. I'd like to have the results back in time to freeze my taekwondo membership by mid-May if that's what I need to do. I asked him should I stop now. For now, the doc said "If you can stand it, keep going. If it is unbearable, stop." Some classes are bearable and some aren't and it is hard to know in advance which is which. Once he's seen the MRI results then we'll decide what to do. In the last week or so, there is nothing I do that doesn't hurt, including swimming. So something is definitely going on in there. He said there is a chance it is a stress fracture higher in the ankle than the previous X-ray could see, or it is a tear of the tendon, or it could be both for that matter. Hopefully I'll know something soon.
